Transformations: Take Off Your Cool

She: “Baby take off your cool, I wanna see you, I wanna see you.”

He: “Baby take off your cool, I wanna know you, I wanna know you.”

Me: For some men connecting on a meaningful level is sometimes a frightening process. Society tells men to be stoic, reserved and “cool.” But at the end of the day everyone needs a place to “chill” or a person(s) we can be ourselves without fear or ridicule. Every man need a place to mentally and emotionally rejuvenate so that they can go back out into the world and hunt and gather.

Creating lasting, meaningful relationships is one of the keys to unlocking  inner mental and emotional strength. From these relationships with our friends, our “boys”, our women, our wives, and our children we get support, inspiration and drive. Sometimes they are at the reason we strive to become a better man, husband, father and gentleman.

Have you told those special people how they inspire you? Have you communicated how much they mean to you?

Don’t be afraid to let down your guard a little, you don’t always have to be so serious. Don’t be afraid to “take off your cool.”
